Boys Basketball Update

February 5th- Senior Night was a success as the Cougars picked up another district win against Dallas Shelton on Friday night to improve to 6-2 in district and 22-13 overall. Junior Payton Hill was the leading scorer and Senior Sharp Shooter Jackson Monroe started the spark shooting 3-5 from the 3-point range in the first Half. The Cougars will travel to Gainesville Monday at 6:00 and to Dallas Shelton Thursday 4:30/6:00/7:30 to conclude regular season play.

January 30th- The Cougars continue to roll heading into tomorrow’s match up against in-city rivalry Vanguard Mustangs. The Cougars defeated Flower Mound Coram Deo 66-62 in Lewisville Friday to improve to 4-2 in district and 20-13 overall. It was an around effort in the win. Seniors Damian Wilson, Chris Hovde, and Letrell Tourissant led the team in scoring.

January 22nd-  Led by our senior class, Reicher Boys Basketball look to continue to pick up wins in district as the head to McKinney Christian Academy Tuesday and Flower Mound Coran Deo Friday. Game times as follows: JV Boys @4:30, Girls @6:00 and Boys @7:30.

The Cougars are currently in 2nd place in the district carrying a 3-1 record into this weeks contest. Our overall record is 19-11 and are currently ranked number 5 in the Crossover and TABC hoops coaches polls.

 

           

January 9th- The Reicher Cougars opened up district play with a win against Mckinney Christian. Chris Hovde and Payton Hill combined for 15-18 from the free throw line. The Cougars improves to 17-11 overall and 1-0 in district. The Cougars will face Flower Mound Coram Deo Tuesday Night in the Cougar Den. Game times are 5:00 JV, 6:00 Girls Varsity and Boys Varsity at 7:30.

           

January 2nd- Reicher Boys Basketball finished with a 3-1 record in the Troy Tournament over the Christmas Holidays. They finished 3rd after dropping the second game against Tom Glenn High School. They had victories in the tournament against West, Rogers, and Moody High School. Seniors Chris Hovde and Letrell Tourissant recieved All Tournament Team Honors. The Cougars improved to 16-10 overall and have upcoming games against Fort Worth All Day Saints Tuesday January 2nd (JV 5:00 and Varsity 6:30) and begins district Friday January 5th against McKinney Christian. Junior Varsity begins at 5:00.

 

    

December 13th- Reicher improves to 14-9 after defeating Riesel High School Tuesday night. Seniors Chris Hovde and Harris Siddiq lead the team in scoring with 14 points each. Senior Shay Hill hit two free throws in the final seconds to secure the win for the Cougars. The Cougars finish the first half of the season with an away game Saturday against St. Michael’s Academy in Austin, Texas. They will also travel to Troy December 28th and 29th to compete in Troy’s Holidays Classic.

              

December 11th- The Cougars snapped a 10-game winning streak falling to Eustace in the Championship Game of The Trinidad Tournament. Led by Seniors Jackson Monroe, Shay Hill, Damion Wilson, Chris Hovde, Latrell Tourissant, Harris Siddiq, and Eli Ferris, the Cougars look to get back in the win column taking a 13-9 record in tonight’s game against Riesel High School. Senior Letrell Tourissant led the team in Trinidad’s Tournament averaging 16 points and 12.6 rebounds per game.

      

December 4th- Reicher Boys Basketball completes the Riesel tournament this past weekend as they went 2-1 in pool playing. Three way tie for first place and going 2-0 in bracket play winning the bronze bracket championship. Congratulations to Damian Wilson and Jackson Monroe on making ALL Tournament Team. The Cougars take a 4 game winning streak into Tuesday’s night contest against Round Rock Concordia at Reicher High school.

October 6th- The Boys basketball opened up their season Thursday November 2nd against North Dallas Adventist Academy.  They came up short in a 74-61 loss despite great performances by Chris Hodve and Harris Siddaq. Chris accomplished his first double-double of the year totaling 28 points and 10 rebounds. Harris contributed 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 steals. The Cougars seek to avenge the loss as they take on Eagle Christian Academy Tuesday November 7 at 6:00 pm at Eagle Christian.
