Girls Basketball Update

November 22nd- The Lady Cougars traveled to Bryan to play diocesan rival St. Joseph Tuesday night. The Lady Cougars were tested early on in the game. Reicher would enter halftime with a 24-10 lead. The Lady Cougars played strong defense and rebounded well. We were led by great effort from  Madison Fetsch and Rynda Maddox.  The Lady Cougars held tight at the end to pull out  a 48-47 win over St. Joesph!

The Reicher Girls Basketball Team opened their season last night with a win against in city rival Waco Live Oak 59-22. The Lady Cougars led 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and would go into half time with a 24-7 lead. Essie Klausmeyer and Ellie Ward led the team in scoring. The offense was great but the defense was better.  We played great team defense that forced tough shots and created turn overs. Way to start the season. The Lady Cougars next game will be on the road Friday at 4:00 pm at Bartlett High School. 


Football Update

November 20th- Reicher was victorious in the first round of the playoffs 48-5 over Rosehill Christian. The Cougar’s defense was stingy all night forcing turnovers and big loses. Bryce Dorton returned a fumble for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. Bradley Bass led to Cougars in rushing with 144 yards and 2 tds on 14 carries. Ben Brittain ran for 2 tds and threw touchdown passes to Eli Ferris and Letrell Toussaint.  The Reicher seniors had a memorable last walk at JJ Kerns stadium to cap off the night. November 13th- Homecoming was a great success! Reicher won 49-21 to go 5-0 in district securing back to back district championships. We had a great crowd there to view an impressive performance. The Reicher defense was stifling allowing less than 200 yards. The defense was led in tackles by Bradley Bass and Eli Ferris. The Reicher offense was in full stride Friday night. Bradley Bass took the first snap of the game to the house and Reicher went on to score touchdowns on their next 7 possessions.  Bradley Bass had 3 rushing touchdowns, Ben Brittain threw 2 touchdown passes to John Aynesworth and one to Eli Ferris and Letrell Toussaint. The offense line controlled the line of scrimmage all night. It was a great Homecoming Game. This Friday your Cougars begin the playoffs at home against Rosehill Christian out of Tomball. The game will begin at 7:00 pm, see you in the stands.



November 6th- Reicher claimed its second concesutive district championship beating Bryan St. Joseph’s 49-15. Bradley Bass had 4 touchdowns on the night, Bryce Dorton, John Aynesworth and Letrell Toussaint all had one. Ben Brittain was impressive in the air completing 16 of 21 passes for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns. The defense had a big night forcing 3 turnovers led by John Aynesworth’s 2 interceptions. The Cougars finish off the regular season this week with homecoming vs TSD 7:30 at JJ Kerns Stadium.


October 30th- Reicher continued their winning ways this past Friday night beating district opponent Bryan Brazos Christian 41-21. The Cougars took the ball 96 yards on the opening series and never looked back. Eli Ferris had 2 touchdowns, Ben Brittain, Bradley Bass, John Aynesworth and Letrell Toussaint all had 1 TD.  The Reicher defense create doom and forced chaos all night, forcing three turnovers and putting pressure on the quarterback all night. Next up your Cougars will travel to Bryan to face diocese rival St. Joseph’s on Friday November 3rd at 7:30


October 16th- Reicher began district with an impressive 47-21 victory over Central Texas Christian. The Cougars were led on Defense by John Aynesworth and Bradley Bass, each with 12 tackles. The offense looked explosive all night. Ben Brittain ran the ball 7 times for 159 yards and 4 touchdowns. John Aynesworth led the receiving stats with 5 catches for 80 yards and 1 touchdown. Bradley Bass and Bryce Dorton also contributed touchdowns in the win. Reicher’s next game will be on the road against Brazos Christian in Bryan, TX on Friday October 27th.


October 3rd- Reicher enters its bye week with a 3-2 record. We fell to Tolar on Friday night. The varsity will take a week to prepare for the district season. JV will travel to St. Michael’s in Austin Thursday night at 5:30




Septenber 25th- Reicher had their first defeat of the year falling to Bremond High School 62-38. The Cougars fought hard but the big play got them in the end. Ben Brittain threw for 360 yards in the loss. Letrell Toussaint had 3 TD catches and the Cougars were led in receiving by John Aynesworth who had 136 yards in the 2nd half. Bradley Bass continues to impress on offense with his 4th straight game with over 100 yards of Offense. This week your Cougars will travel to Tolar Texas on Friday night at 7:30. September 20th- Reicher moved to 3-0 with an impressive comeback victory at Bosqueville Friday night 41-40. Your Cougars trailed by 13 in the 4th quarter. The comeback was capped of with a touchdown pass from Ben Brittain to Bradley Bass with 12 seconds left in the game. The game was a total team effort. Its was the perfect way to celebrate Jose Servin’s birthday. Reicher will host the defending stamp champion Bremond Tigers Friday night at 7:30. Come out and support your Cougars! Friday is also the Big Smoothie Dance in honor of Rod McBride. There will be a dance in the gym after the game.



September 12th– Reicher’s home opener was a success. The Cougars beat the Moody Bearcats 56-26. We scored in all 3 phases of the game. It was a great team performance. Reicher’s defense scored 2 touchdowns (John Jack Boozer and Ben Brittain) and were led in tackles by Bradley Bass, John Aynesworth and Eli Ferris. The offense had a very balanced attack all night, utilizing both air and ground attack. Bradley Bass, Eli Ferris and Ben Brittain all had touchdowns for the Cougar Offense. Ben Brittain produced over 500 yards of production and was the Channel 6 “Player of the Week”. Bryce Dorton won the Waco Trib “Defensive Player of the Week” for his performance against Meridian.  Football is the ultimate team sport and these awards represent what the team is doing on the field. This Friday your Reicher Cougars will travel down the road to face the Bosqueville Bulldogs Friday night at 7:30.




September 6th- The Reicher Football Team picked up where they left off last season with an impressive 41-14 win over Meridian High School. Brandon Ramirez started the season off in style with an interception returned for a touchdown on the first play of the game. Reicher’s defense was impressive all night creating 13 tackles for a loss on the night. Bryce Dorton led the team with 5 sacks and a tackles for loss. Bradley Bass led the team in tackles with 11.  Ben Brittain looked sharp in his first career start at quarterback completing 13 of his 19 attempts. John Aynesworth, Bryce Dorton, Eli Ferris and Letrell Toussaint all looked explosive at receiver. Bradley Bass led the Cougars in rushing, carrying the ball for over 100 yards on just 11 attempts. The offensive line wore down a good front 7 from Meridian to seal a Cougar victory.

Watson to Sign Letter of Intent (Nov. 8, 11:35am)

On Wednesday, November 8 at 11:35 am, Reicher Catholic High School student-athlete, Ana Watson, will sign a letter of intent to play softball at the next level. Surrounded by teammates, family, coaches, and friends, Ana will officially accept an athletic scholarship from Baylor University.

Ana’s determination and perseverance have distinguished her as a leader both on and off the field. Her activities while at Reicher include playing Varsity Softball for three years. Playing center field as a junior, Ana earned the honor of Super-Centex Honorable Mention, TAPPS Division III, First Team All-District, TAPPS Division III, First Team All-State, and the TAPPS Softball Division III, All-Tournament Team.  In addition to her success on the softball field, Ana has played Varsity Volleyball for three years, serving her team as a back-row defensive specialist and leading her team in digs. Ana is an All-American, Varsity Cheerleader. She was the Junior Homecoming Princess. As a member of Chi-Theta-Upsilon, the Reicher Campus Ministry Program, Ana serves the Reicher community by leading our faith life programs. Ana has participated in the Reicher Study Abroad Program and achieved Honor Roll throughout her career at Reicher. She is a member of the Reicher Student Marketing and Enrollment Team where she works to promote and grow her school. She is an extraordinary role model, and the Reicher community is so incredibly proud of her work.

Boys Basketball Update

October 6th- The Boys basketball opened up their season Thursday November 2nd against North Dallas Adventist Academy.  They came up short in a 74-61 loss despite great performances by Chris Hodve and Harris Siddaq. Chris accomplished his first double-double of the year totaling 28 points and 10 rebounds. Harris contributed 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 steals. The Cougars seek to avenge the loss as they take on Eagle Christian Academy Tuesday November 7 at 6:00 pm at Eagle Christian.
