Student Classification
The minimum number of credits required for classification:
Sophomores - Miniumum of 7 credits
Juniors - Miniumum of 15 credits
Seniors - Minimum of 22 credits
These credits must be in required courses |
Credit Deficiencies
Students who have a credit deficiency must present evidence that, through summer school courses, these deficiencies have been made up. If the deficiencies are not made up in summer school, the student may be denied readmission. If summer school is not available, correspondence classes may be pre-approved by the counselor or vice-principal. Students may have NO credit deficiencies entering their senior year. |
College and/or Correspondence Classes
Students may seek to complete a college course for their own advancement at a community college with the approval of the Principal or Vice-Principal. These students must adhere to the admissions policies of the school in which they seek to enroll. Before enrolling in a college course in order to meet high school requirements, students must meet with the College Counselor or Vice-Principal.
All high school courses required by the State of Texas must be taken at Reicher Catholic High School. Students wishing to use a correspondence course to complete requirements must have the approval of the Dean of Instruction/Vice Principal and these courses must be completed prior to the beginning of the senior year. It is the student’s responsibility to see that class grades are reported to RCHS. |
Special Education
Reicher Catholic High School does not have facilities or faculty to offer modified curriculum or classes in Special Education. There are occasions, however, when a student with diagnosed and documented disabilities requires additional assistance. Reicher makes every effort to meet recommended accommodations that deal with extended time and/or preferential seating.

Dual Credit Courses
Reicher Catholic High School offers four dual credit classes with McLennan Community College; two in mathematics, one in government and one in economics. These classes are offered on the Reicher campus during the class day. In order to qualify for enrollment, students must have completed prerequisites, apply to MCC, submit a dual credit form, and achieve a high enough score on a standardized test (THEA, Quick THEA, Accuplacer, ACT or SAT) by the registration deadline. The qualifications are following:
THEA - 230+ reading, 270+ mathematics
Accuplacer - 78= reading, 96= mathematics
ACT - Composite 23, minimum 19 in English and mathematics
SAT - Critical Reading and Mathematics score of 1070, with each score above 500
Dual credit classes will be capped with an enrollment of 25.
Note: Reicher and MCC’s grading scales differ. MCC’s passing grade is a 60, and in order to pass at Reicher the semester grade must be 70 or better. It the student’s semester average from MCC is below 70, s/he will not be granted credit from Reicher. |
Schedule Changes
Class schedules and faculty assignments are based upon pre- and re-registrations that take place the prior spring. Therefore, choices made at course selection time are considered permanent. On rare occasions, however, changing a student’s selections is necessary. If that is the case, the change must be made within the first ten (10) days of class. A two semester class has duration of the full year. Students may not drop a year long class at semester.
Justifiable reason for schedule changes:
- Administrative request is made
- Change initiated by the Instructor
- A documented physical disability prevents participation
- An error was made in entering course schedules
Please think carefully about your course selections, especially those with Honors, Pre-AP,
AP, and Dual Credit designation.
Students desiring to take more than 3 honors / AP / Dual Credit courses at a time must have prior authorization from the Dean of Instruction. |
